I don't even mind that when you're not furrowing your brow you look retarded

I'm sure Zoolander had it right, and that male models are a vapid waste of space (or gay, or otherwise not worth my time (i.e. already have gorgeous model girlfriends...)), but they sure as hell are pretty to look at. Gimme one of these boys and I won't even mind if they don't know the difference between "you're" and "your"!

oh p.s. I don't know if any of you read my blog back in the good old days when no one read my blog, so check out this post and try to find sexy little joshy!

OH p.p.s. you guys all rock and make me happy and shit. ALSO I'm reading all the Harry Potter books again which may or may not be good for my health. I've thoroughly decided that the next guy I am with (btdubs I have horrid luck with guys, perhaps because of lists like this...) will be the perfect mix of Fred and George Weasley, will be able to sing, will be taller than me, intelligent and intellectual, have a wonderful sense of style, and will give good massages.

carrots and cupcakes and blueberries to you all
LOVE ANGELA

p.p.p.s. I'm supposed to be job hunting right now. fuck you blogsphere for distracting me!

Ramalama bang bang

Let's all stand on our hands.

Sorry for my prolonged absence, I've been busy...all with things that are not helping my unemployed/broke status. But I'm home now and off to job-hunt! Oh joy!!
Also sorry for not giving photo credits. I found the pictures that go together on photo decadent, and the one of the beach on google images...
AND I LOVE YOU ALL.

Sunflowers on grey days

First off, thank you all for leaving such positive and sweet comments- they make me smile without fail.
Secondly, I am going on a little weekend away with my familia tomorrow, so I won't be around the blogosphere for a tad, probably be back Monday.
Now on to the real stuff.

Although I know that smoking is terribly horrid for your health, and probably is not worth doing, it can be so provocative and sexy. But why?

I smoke because I crave the aesthetic, not the nicotine*. Holding a cigarette in hand can make me feel instantly glamorous, kick-ass, or rebellious. Perhaps this is because of the way cigarettes have been marketed, used in fashion spreads, and tied to the rebellious and glamorous of Hollywood and pop-culture. Maybe it's the sensuality of being able to actually see breaths being breathed. Or it could be the social aspect. Most likely it's a combination of those, and more.

*I'm pretty much just a social smoker, though there have been times when I've been known to light up a cigarette and just walk down the street holding it because I love the way it looks.

Explosion

I've got so many emotions all banging around inside of me that I can't even start to try to figure them out. I think that since there is so much chaos inside of me I have been gravitating towards the simplicity of black and white photography.

this is how I feel right now. I found it on google and I don't know who took the photo.

And I know that this isn't technically in black and white, but I like it anyway. By Mateusza Staniewicz.

I was pretty, now I'm a boy

I got a haircut and it's really short and sort of resembles David Bowie or a dyke. Not sure if I really like it or not yet...but it does make me want to dress like a gothic wedding, infused with rock and roll.

Sort of like this:

mixed with this...

and this...

and this...

this too...

and throw a splash of this in...

I once again have to add a disclaimer, because yes, those runway photos are from rodarte, and yes, I did just do a post on how un-inspiring I am finding runway shit. Maybe instead of a disclaimer I will just clarify- some things on the runway I do find brilliant and inspiring- it's the whole culture surrounding fashion that I find rather sickening.

I hope all you lovelies are doing fabulously- I am not, but that is of no matter. Love you all!!

You wear leather, I wear fur

So not only am I completely unreliable for consistent posts, but now I am following one of those trends that I have denounced so many times too! (i.e. look at the last post bitchez) God I'm a fucking hypocrite, but it's sure fun being me!

So I fell for the black lipstick. And can wear it quite comfortably in the comfort of my own home, but where (now that I live OH SO far from New York City) can I bust these bad boys (i.e. my lips (?)) out??!?

Oh bee tee dubs, I didn't actually buy the chanel black lipstick. Dur. I made my own with chapstick and black eyeshadow/liner powder, probs bad for my health, but kickass looking no?

Total loser.

I may just be the biggest loser on the face of the planet, or I may be rebelling against fashion's institution, or I might just be lazy and distracted, but I have not looked at any- that's right any- runway shows from NY fashion week, the SS09 collections, or any other fashion related anything.

I suppose I should look at the collections, but lately I've been so anti-rules, anti-trends, anti-ins and outs that it's really hard for me to give a fuck.
I am coming to this point in my life where I care less about fashion and more about the art of clothing oneself.
I think that fashion, in its purest form, is essentially a three dimensional projection of the art that is present within an individual. I think that our bodies are the palettes and canvases which we are given to work with and on, and that each individual canvas is that much more beautiful because it is an individual; no two look alike. Right now fashion shows- with skinny clone models, choreographed cat-walks, and money, money, money- are incredibly uninspiring to me. I feel like they've been drained of life, and injected with high society and lots of dollar bills, things that fashion is really not about.
Fashion should push limits, not reside within them, they should break bounds, not create them, and fashion should never, ever judge.

So I, like this guy, am gonna say "fuck it, let's have fashion anarchy" and do whatever the hell I please.
