Come and dance the night away with me
my skeleton bones will make
you lovely old crones
shine in your shimmering glory

Come spin tales on my wheel
weaving gossamer in and out
webs of life, webs of death are all about
you must spin them well so that we will feel

If you come I'll sing you a song
Only to be heard in the sea
The beauty of it will be a plea
For you to come and join along

And there in the sea
we will be
And consort with assortments
of curiosities...

Fairies and strangers will greet us
and there we will settle
and get our own kettle
and under the sea we will really be we.

Come dance with me

This isn't about fashion anymore is it? Was it ever about fashion? I think I've bared my soul and my heart and my me to the world, but haven't really talked about fashion.

I don't think I like it anymore-fashion. I only like art and love and beauty.
I wish I could articulate the love and beauty and art that is inside me and that I feel. I wish I could articulate it through more than words, more than clothes, more than collages.

Sometimes I feel very untalented, and then I wonder if I'm only a shadow of an artist and not really real. I wonder if I have the soul of a lover but can't really love. I wonder too sometimes if what I do and say makes any difference.

I want to add beauty to the world- but I am unsure if what I am doing counts as adding beauty. Do my words and drawings make anything more beautiful? They do for me at least. I think that's what it comes down to, my little sketches and my forays with glue and chain and jewelry and watercolors make me happy, even if at the same time they are making me feel a little bit inadequate.

Isn't life so beautiful?

It makes me want to be better- life's beauty. It makes me want to be wilder and break more rules and be more beautiful and more crazy and more in love with everyone and everything, and the entire universe is hugging me for it and I can feel it soft and gentle and powerful and unknown. The unknown is beautiful too, maybe more beautiful than the known, and that is what I want, the unknown, the universe. I want to know and unknow everything and everyone, because everything and everyone is knowable and unknowable and both are beautiful. Life is short so I will love everything and everyone in all of their states of knowingness or knownness. And while I do that I won't know anything and I'll forget everything I ever learned other than to love, because I am not done learning how to love,  so I can't forget how to yet.

Maybe that's why love is the only universal truth, because it can never be known entirely, and everyone loves a mystery. Love is the ultimate mystery, and it loves me and I love it for loving me and knowing that I love it's unknowableness.

And most of all I love you because you are beautiful and you make me smile, and smiling makes fear and hate and anger go away, and then we can't be evil, and all we can do is smile and love, and then the entire world will be smiling and loving and forgetting everything it was ever taught except for how to love, because no one can ever teach love and no one can ever learn it.
And so I love you.

My face will be the mirror to yours

Emotions keep swelling up inside of me unexpectedly.
Unexpected emotions.
Feelings I am not ready for, not looking for.
Emotions that are unexpected.

It seems that my heart is so ready to love that it loves without discretion.
Someday my heart needs to learn discretion.
Before I love until I die, and no one loves me back.

My silly, silly heart is on crutches,
My heart is in crumbles,
My silly heart is aching, and crying, and begging for more.
When will my silly heart learn?

It's sitting here, my heart,
Pinned on my sleeve,
Here for you to see.
Here for you to have.
So why don't you love me back?

I'm also working on a series of collages portraying the seven deadly sins, that I'll be selling in my Etsy. This is the first one, and will be up for sale tomorrow or so- I'm really loving it, and this series in general.

And the songs they get louder, each one better than before

Humans are such funny beings. We have our entire lives to experiment and explore, yet we hold ourselves back so easily, so much of the time. Perhaps some of the exploration is outside the bounds of the social norm, so we wait until we are older, or alone, or more rebellious to explore it- but who is to say when to stop or when to go, in these explorations?

Perhaps some thirteen year olds are ready to explore sexuality. Who is it to hold them back? Perhaps some sixty year olds are ready to begin smoking pot. Who is it to stop them? Who has the right to say 'Halt!' to someone else's explorations?

It is not my place to tell you when to stop or when to go, it is not my place to tell you what is right or what is wrong. It is my place to live my life without anyone else telling me in which direction to go, which path to choose to explore, what to experiment with, what is right, what is wrong, when to stop, or when to go.

That is for me to decide alone. That is for you alone to decide. When we all decide what is us, each person individually developing without bounds and restrictions, we can link each other together with love and acceptance.

When you decide to be Christian I ask that you try not to push it upon me, because I have decided that words are the stuff to which worship is due, and I will try not to push that upon you. When I decide that my capability to love is stymied by monogamy please try not to condemn me, because I will try not to condemn you for channelling all of your love into one individual lover. When I choose to disregard the confines and socially constructed definitions of sex and gender please try not to  judge me, because I will try not to judge your choice to call yourself a traditional housewife. When I use my right to choose please try not to chide me, because I will try not to chide you for keeping your embryo. All I ask is that you try to love me, because no matter our differences, I will try to love you.

Because all we need is love. Without it we will never advance, we will all die. With love comes peace, with love comes acceptance, with love comes tolerance and understanding, with love comes freedom. We can all love. We all need love, need to love, before we self destruct.

I feel like screaming

I do. I just feel like screaming.
I'm grumpy today, and stagnant. I hate days like this.
I also feel quite morbid.

Something better will come tomorrow.

Lucky you, lucky me

I'm still giddy about the Obama win.
I've woken up the past two mornings, thinking about how I am living in a period of immense change.
We can do it! Yes we can!!

I'm really not feeling very inspired right now, or rather, I'm feeling inspired but somehow I can't put it into the words that are needed in order to blog about it.
So here are some scans of my little book of lovelyness:

Also, I would like to live in this world:
(the last photo especially. I want to be the blue girl)
